How long would I have?

I don’t know if this question has ever been asked before…so, my apologies if it’s repetitive. I got to thinking about all the adjustment-type of regimens that diabetics are saddled with; the actual need, the life dependence on an item someone produces to keep you alive has humbled me. These past 6 months since I was diagnosed with Type 1 DM, my travels have been about learning. Never, until today, had I pondered the thought of what would happen if my insulin stopped. The supply of it, what if that stopped.

Never thought of that, before. So, here’s a question, if I may? How long would I have? I mean, how long would I have to look for more insulin? I imagine that would need some variables like carbohydrate intake per day, how much insulin I inject a day, something else? 27 units keeps me fine for around 150 carb’s a day. That, I imagine I’d have lower quite quickly. All I’ve ever really "needed" to survive was food. That’s changed.
