The weigh-in also included the debut of new Octagon girl Chandella Powell, plus UFC President Dana White having to separate Cole Miller and Dan Lauzon when they wouldn’t stop jawing with each other.
“When you’re facing an opponent like Thiago Silva, any distraction would be a mistake,” said Evans, when asked if it was hard to focus on Silva after he had initially prepared for a meeting with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson. “I didn’t make that mistake and I’m 100 percent focused on this fight.”
Silva, who speaks little English, also complimented his opponent.
“Rashad is a tough guy,” Silva said. “But I’m here to fight. That’s what I want to do.”
