Now that Google’s Nexus One “SUPERPHONE” has officially launched, along with the far more interesting a carrier-independent smartphone store through which it is being sold, what can we expect from it — bottom line? In a note to clients this morning, Barclays Capital analyst Doug Anmuth hazards a guess: 5 – 6 million units sold in 2010, based on distribution through T-Mobile at launch and Verizon Wireless (VZ) by spring. That’s quite a number, considering Motorola’s (MOT) 2010 global smartphone shipments are expected to be somewhere around 13 million units. And, according to Anmuth, it should allow Google (GOOG) to book incremental revenue of $2.6 billion–$3.2 billion.
