The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) awarded the 2010 Lexus HS 250h a 5-star rating after subjecting what Toyota calls the "world’s first dedicated luxury hybrid" to its series of crash tests. The hybrid scored great in both front impact for the driver and right front passenger positions and side impact for the driver and left rear passenger.
