The BMW 5-Series GT was first presented to the European market at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor show. It is now available in the US, and these videos show the design and production phases of the new 5-Series Gran Turismo. We get an insight into both the exterior and interior design philosophy, and get a peek at some BMW technology, including the 3D glasses used to visualise the interior before any concept is actually made.
The second part of the video, after the jump, shows the prototype and testing phase of the BMW 5-Series GT, with all of its handmade parts. Crash tests are completed, and it’s time to get the 5-Series GT out on the track to see how it actually drives. We even get to see how the camouflage works in testing!
