NBC Considering Booting Conan & Sending Leno Back To “The Tonight Show”

NBC executives met with Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien Thursday to talk about the future of the network’s late-night lineup, The New York Times is reporting

Although NBC denied a report that it is scrapping The Jay Leno Show, The Peacock is reportedly considering several moves to address the poorly rated 10 PM program, including cancelling the show, moving it to a different timeslot, and revamping its entire late-night lineup:

NBC executives held discussions with both Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien Thursday about the future of the network’s late-night lineup. And while executives said that no final decision has been made, they did not deny that the network is considering moves that could include returning Mr. Leno to his old job as host of The Tonight Show.

A spy told The Times no official decision would be announced Thursday.

Network suits, on the other hand, say they are committed to keeping both Conan and Jay on board at NBC, saying: “We have the best comedy team in the business. We remain committed to keeping Conan O’Brien on NBC. He is a valued part of our late-night line-up, as he has been for more than 16 years and is one of the most respected entertainers on television.”

What do you think NBC should do, folks? Is it time to pull the plug on The Jay Leno Show?
