If you’re giving candy for Valentine’s, plan ahead to order something extra special online. I’ve highlighted choices from a couple of my favorite chocolatiers below. You don’t have to live near them to enjoy. They’re available online for sweet lovers.
No marshmallow comes close to Recchiuti in San Francisco. Handmade using traditional French techniques, these delicate treats are graced with real Madagascar vanilla beans. Yes, I’ve tried them, and they make a great Valentine’s Day surprise. If your sweetheart isn’t into famous marshmallows, Recchiuti also has plenty of other yummy chocolate delights like truffles, candied orange peel or peanut butter pucks made with organic peanut butter.
Another delicious choice for beautiful Valentine gifts is Moonstruck Chocolatier in Portland, Oregon. Their cute Love Bug Truffles will get a big smile! If your own love bug likes raspberry or strawberry, these truffles are a great choice. Or, for the teddy bear fan, go with “Be Mayan” Teddy Bear Truffles.
If you want to give a less cutesy Moonstruck Valentine, try the LOVE Letter Truffles for a more classic choice. It’s hard to go wrong giving anything from Moonstruck where each piece is made by hand. Yip, I’ve tasted Moonstruck too. It’s probably a good thing I don’t live too close to them though.
You can also handcraft your own Valentine gift featuring candy. Make Martha Stewart’s Candy and Tulip Bouquet for someone special. You can use red cinnamon candies with red tulips or conversation hearts with creamy-colored tulips.
