The insertion of a chin implant into one’s chin may take anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour. During this surgery, the plastic surgeon will select the proper shape and size of implant to properly enhance your appearance. He or she will then proceed to insert the implant into a pocket that has been created over the front of the jawbone. The tiny incision that is used to create the implant pocket and to insert the implant is usually placed inside the mouth (along the lower lip) or in the skin just under one’s chin area.
