I’ve always thought that Milwaukee needs to reclaim a lot of the city streets and create more public plazas that are pedestrian/cycle-only. That central canal I the rendering appears to be such. The more concrete and asphault we can squeeze away from the streets, the better. Right turn/left turn lanes at intersections do NOT belong in downtowns.
