Mississippi ranks as the most religious state in the nation in a recent Pew survey. Oklahoma was 7th, filling in the rest in no particular order are Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, and South Carolina. All in the south. In Oklahoma, 69% of people said religion was very important to them and 50% of people attend weekly church services.

edit: Here’s the full list:

1 Mississippi
2 Alabama
3 Arkansas
4 Louisiana
5 Tennessee
6 South Carolina
7 Oklahoma
8 North Carolina
9 Georgia
10 Kentucky

The whole south pretty much, except for Texas, Florida, and Virginia..the only ones missing from the Top Ten, and just barely.

I am surprised Utah, Indiana, Idaho, etc and a few others aren’t in the Top 10 to break up the southern bloc, but I guess not.
