Former figure skating champ Tonya Harding, who was publicly shamed when her former husband hired a hit man to club her skating rival Nancy Kerrigan in the knee, is speaking out about the weekend death of Kerrigan’s father following a brawl with the Olympic medalist’s brother.
“Tonya feels very sad for Nancy and her family and extends her deepest sympathy and condolences to them. Tonya’s beloved dad, Al Harding, passed away this past April, so she understands the grief Nancy and her family are feeling at this difficult time,” a rep for Tonya told The Insider on Monday afternoon.
Daniel Kerrigan was found dead in his Stoneham, Massachusetts home on Sunday. Authorities in the Boston suburb have charged the brother of the Olympic figure skater with assaulting the 70-year-old just before he suffered a fatal heart attack. Mark Kerrigan, 45, faces one charge of assault and battery on a person over 60 that resulted in injuries.
