Last week was really rough on the Bulls, but it looked as though they might get some good retribution.
But in the end, it was not to be.
The Dow was up and down but eventually spewed out a modest gain of 24 points to close at 10,196. The NASDAQ and S&P 500 closed up 5 points each.
Commodities generally had a pretty good day as well, with oil gaining $0.65 to close at $75.19 a barrel.
Gold was up nearly $5 to close at $1096 an ounce, still under the coveted $1100 level. And silver? Up $0.22 at $17.15 an ounce.
