David Arquette Defends Wife Courteney Cox Against Weight Jibes

David Arquette, husband of Cougar Town’s Courteney Cox, has defended the former Friends star against a New York Times blogger, who made cracks about her weight. The writer caused outrage among readers after alleging that actresses Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Kate Hudson had “put on a little weight” at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards.

The actor, who married his Scream co-star Cox in 1999, is so disturbed about the comments that he aired his thoughts at the opening of “The Pee Wee Herman Show” in Los Angeles last week.
Arquette believes weight should never be an issue and is calling on all bloggers to be kinder.

He tells FoxNews.com: “Writing articles about people that put on weight is just wasting space for real news. And who really cares? I love round people, I love skinny people. I love people in general; we’ve got to get past labels and stop being so critical about everything. On the Internet, people find that place and think they can just speak their mind, but a lot of the time you see how mean people are. In general, we just need to be a kinder society.”
