Carrie Underwood has been cast to appear alongside Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, and AnnaSophia Robb in the upcoming movie Soul Surfer, based on the life of Bethany Hamilton — the Florida teen who lost her arm in a shark attack several years ago.
According to Variety, Bethany will be played by AnnaSophia, with Helen and Dennis cast as her parents. The recently-engaged Carrie will portray a youth leader at a church. Filming is currently underway in Hawaii. The film is expected to debut later this year.
