New Honda Civic VMT – Polished metal metallic – Initial ownership experience

Chronology
——————>>>>>>>>————–>>>>
Year 2006 – CIVIC came to India
Saw it for the first time in 2006 and fell in love with the looks of the car………….
Even today also, a civic on the road catches my attention although i am in it myself,,,,,,
Wanted to buy a new car in 2006 but couldnot afford CIVIC then,,,,,,
took a decision to wait for a appropriate time and time came in on Feb 6, Saturday,2010……………
Although was perpared to buy in Nov/Dec 2009, i thought of waiting for a 2010 model.

Although heart and mind was always on CIVIC, wanted to check out other competitive cars in same segment, took TD of Laura TSI, Jetta 1.9TDI, Chevy Cruze and offcourse Corolla Altis………………did not find any of these as exciting as CIVIC…………………..I feel Civic is a drivers car for those in their 20’s or 30’s. You may do all TDs, techincal analysis, studies, comparison etc etc, but end of the day what matters is , did you buy the machine which you like/love ?. I guess my mind was very stuck right on that aspect while buying CIVIC, thats all mattered to me, hence i am not going into details of what is right/wrong between cars in this segment although i have all the details………

Started talking to all 3 honda dealers in Bangalore – Magnum, Dakshin and Whitefield, found whitefield and dakshin equally professional in their approach, followup and promptness. Magnum was not a match for my expectations. Took final offers from both Dakshin and Whitefiled and finally decided to go with Whitefiled because of good offer and close proximity.

Through a close contact who worked at whitefiled honda earlier, i intiated a dialogue which took me talking straight up to senior sales manager at whitefiled and all the way to the deliery with a good deal,
Booked VMT polished metal metallic on on 30th Jan and got delivery in 1 week as promised by whitefeild on date/time on 6th Feb
Here is the deal i got
On Road VMT Cost (bangalore) = 15.62L
Corporate discount = 20,000
Insurance – 26,091/- from Royal sundaram
I mentioned to the dealer i am getting good insurance outside at lesser price than what is included in on road price(Rs40,091), but they agreed to give it same price as outside, so total insurance savings was 14,000/-.
Total on road price came to = 15.28L
On further negotiation with dealer they were ready to offer me 15,000/- discount on accessories(any) or another 10,000 cash discount, but i asked for rear spoiler and side step garnish for free, they disagreed initaially, after relentless arguments and negotiations, i managed to get Rear Spoiler and Side Step garnish on all 4 doors for free out of showroom
Did not go for parking sensors and sunfilm from showroom, plan to get it done outside at better cost.

So in all total cost was 15.28L and car came with spoiler and garnish free.

I am currently excited to drive my dream machine and getting used to the new car dynamics………..I will post intital drive experience shortly – Its difficult to keep her under 3K RPM for sure at this moment…….

Here are some pics………..
