Mexico will become a strategic location for Chrysler’s financial recovery, as the Fiat Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne told Reuters that the company could build 130,000 Fiat 500s in the country, through a $550 million investment.
According to Reuters, the Fiat 500 will be produced at a Chrysler plant near Mexico City by December. Cars assembled there are destined for the U.S. and Latin American markets, Marchionne, who also leads Chrysler, added.
