Fleshmob Strips Down to Protest Airport Scans

Recently protesters stripped down at Germany’s Berlin-Tegel airport to protest the planned introduction of new, more intrusive, body scanners. Calling themselves a “fleshmob”, the protesters got down to their underwear and wrote protest slogans over their bodies.

“Something to hide?” and “Be a good citizen – drop your pants” were among the slogans written in German.

The new scanners have been dubbed “virtual strip searches” because they can peer through clothing, creating a ghostly naked image. The scanners are being rushed into operation following the failed aircraft bombing in Detroit when a passenger smuggled explosives in his underwear.
