John Mayer Crying On Stage In Wake Of Playboy Interview Backlash

Oh John Mayer, we know you’re prone to idiotic comments, but you’ve really outdone yourself this time. The musician broke down on stage in Nashville last night over criticism from his interview with the March issue of Playboy. Over the last 24 hours, Mayer has managed to spread douchebaggery far and wide by spurting off offensive language (he used the N-word) and revealing waaay too much about his sex life with Jessica Simpson — who he disrespectfully describes as “addictive sexual napalm.”

(Um, John, napalm isn’t a drug. It’s a flammable liquid used in chemical warfare, but I digress…..)

It appears the debate over his controversial remarks is beginning to get the better of Mayer. E! News gossip boxes claim a choked-up John got emotional over the debacle during a guitar solo in the Hometown of Country-Western Wednesday night.

The musician stunned the audience at Nashville’s Sommet Center by halting the show mid-song and tearfully vowing to curb his comments to the press.

“I quit the media game. I’m out. I’m done,” John announced, his voice cracking as he spoke. “I just want to play my guitar…..I decided I would try to be as clever as possible all the time, and I did that at the expense of people that I love and that feels absolutely terrible.”
