RowFit Chicago, Chicago’s newest indoor fitness studio, offers Chicago-area residents fully customized cardiovascular exercise programs featuring one of the world’s oldest sports: rowing.
But the new fitness studio, located at 1064 N Milwaukee Avenue, brings state-of-the-art technology and global fitness expertise to the well-known rowing workout.
“Rowing is one of the most effective and versatile workouts for athletes,” explains Ironman triathlete and veteran rower Nell Shuttleworth. “It’s low-impact approach is easy on joints and burns a ton of calories because of all the muscle groups it uses.”
RowFit’s indoor rowing facility will have its grand opening from 1 to 3pm on Saturday, Feb. 20 and features cutting-edge rowing machines (ergometers), offering its users digital workout feedback, heart-rate monitoring, long-term performance analysis and wireless head-to-head racing.
“The excitement and competition of rowing makes our workout programs effective by offering clients straightforward goals and an overall workout that feels more like a game than a chore,” says Shuttleworth.
Whether most interested in losing weight and burning calories, joint health, aerobic fitness, stress relief or an overall cardiovascular workout, the rowing-based fitness programs at RowFit Chicago are tailored to all athletic backgrounds and levels, to create a truly personalized fitness solution for anyone.
Shuttleworth teaches proper rowing technique at RowFit Chicago, challenging participants with effective rowing workouts that burn more calories than on any other cardiovascular machine while putting no added pressure on joints.
For approximately 50 minutes, athletes work out their cardiovascular system, their core muscles and their minds so they leave feeling better physically and emotionally than when they started the workout.
In addition to indoor rowing, RowFit Chicago also offers group exercise classes in Boot Camp, CrossFit (chi-towncrossfit.com), Computrainer and Yoga.
