Lady Gaga Goes Barbie

Lady Gaga is already available in cupcake and cookie form, now you can have one of the world’s hottest music sensations in plastic too! Lu Wei Kang, a 29-year-old fashion designer from Beijing, has spent the past year creating miniature Gaga-inspired outfits for his Barbie collection, which he’s hoping to market worldwide.

A 29-year-old man with a Barbie collection? It’s true. Kang has recreated miniature versions of the silver headdress Gaga wore to this year’s Grammys and even the red frilled collar she wore when she met the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance in Blackpool.

“Nobody else dresses like Lady Gaga. She’s a fashion leader – just look at her in those amazing wigs, make-up, and outfits. I pay close attention to her music, clothes, glasses and make-up. Every detail makes me love her more and more and I thought it would be fun to make those wigs and outfits for Barbie dolls,” Kang told Britain’s Daily Telegraph this week.

“Right now, I just make dolls for fun but I plan to sell them so more Lady Gaga and Barbie fans can own them. I may sell them via online auctions first and hopefully in shops after that….”
