Lady Gaga Plans Brit Awards Tribute To Alexander McQueen

Lady Gaga has thrown tonight’s 2010 Brit Awards into a tailspin after scrapping her original performance in favor of a more sombre acoustic set in tribute to late designer Alexander McQueen. The “Poker Face” hitmaker was left devastated when McQueen, a dear friend of Gaga’s, was found hanged in his London apartment last week. Officials believe the grief-striken designer took his own life. Subsequently, Gaga feels it would be inappropriate to do a lively performance in the wake of a friend’s death.

A tipster tells London’s The Sun: “Gaga’s final choreography was finished ages ago. The whole performance had been rehearsed and was ready to go, but when she turned up on Monday, she announced she is too upset about Alexander McQueen to do that performance. She says she’s changing everything. She wants to wear an-all black outfit and do sombre versions of her music as a tribute to him.”

Apparently, organizers are so angry with Gaga, there are talks of moving her performance back and handing her slot over to Cheryl Cole instead.
