GQ goes behind the scenes once again to visit one of the nominees from their Best New Designer in America competition. While the first vid went to winner Billy Reid, this time around, Burkman Bros. gets the knock on the door as they open up their studio to reveal what they’ve been working on. As explained by the design siblings, much of their inspiration for the current collection revolves around the style of the backpackers and adventurers who visit Asia. They borrow bits and pieces from the simple Asian market goods, whether it be a crafted rug or a Bollywood poster. It’s quite refreshing to see a duo like the Burkman Bros. they really have optimistic view in their business practices, and you can genuinely tell that they are also enjoying themselves in the process.
