JOLIET, Ill. (STMW) – A teenage boy angry about being deprived a trip to Dairy Queen called the police and fabricated a story about his father punching him in the back of the head and kicking him out of the house in southwest suburban Joliet.
The 15-year-old called 911 shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday and imparted this tale of woe, police said. But when officers arrived at his Nowell Avenue home, they heard a different story from his parents.
The boy’s father told officers his son “was upset about not being able to go to Dairy Queen,” according to a police report.
The youth was apparently so upset, police said, that the troubled teen “threw a snowball at his dad.” The boy’s father then “shut the door on his son so he wouldn’t attack” him.
The precocious child returned to his house “after he cooled down,” the report said.
