Although, fabrics having the ability to generate energy using solar energy have already been produced, none of them have shown actual usability. However, in a new method, invented by Ideal Star, a Tokyo based company; threads are infused with solar cells. As a result of this technique, this method greatly reduces the high production costs occurred in manufacturing these types of fabrics along with making the fabric look like a normal fabric.
Considering the importance of solar energy in the near future this invention is surely a major breakthrough. This technology if harnessed appropriately can be used to make fabrics which can be used to make curtains as well as clothes which can actually be used to harness solar energy rather than just being concepts.
