On Thursday, ABC will announce plans for the new series that pairs celebrities and pro skaters in a six-week ice dancing competition, USA TODAY reports.

The idea’s been tried once before, without much success, in the form of FOX’s 2006 series Skating With Celebrities. Nonetheless, The Alphabet Network is forging ahead with plans for the new show in response to the overwhelming success of its hit reality series Dancing With The Stars, now in its 10th season. Produced by BBC Worldwide, the Dancing spinoff is based on the popular UK reality competition Dancing On Ice, and will feature six teams competing in themed rounds each week.
