Earlier, we had posted about Valve’s Portal 2 and other Source engine based games headed onto the Mac. Now if that wasn’t good enough news, you have lot more to be happy about. In a post explaining some of the most commonly asked questions, that they have received via email, Valve has confirmed the following points:
- You will not have to purchase the Mac version of Team Fortress 2, if you own the PC version. Alternatively, once the Mac version is available, purchasing it would mean that you own the PC version as well
- Team Fortress 2 will not running under emulation, via Cider / SwiftShader /API wrappers / what not. The build will be a clean native code build running on OS X.
- Mac and PC users will be able to play against each other simultaneously.
So Mac folks, get your gaming gear ready and warm up to frag your PC counterparts!
