Market launch: MCP 200 polarimeter

The newest member of Anton Paar’s polarimeter family provides precision at an economic price – the success story continues!

As with Anton Paar’s other polarimeters, the new MCP 200 stands out for its easy and intuitive menu navigation. It is a pleasure to operate the MCP 200 via the color touchscreen. It also fulfils all the requirements of international standards and guidelines (pharmacopoeia, OIML, ASTM and 21 CFR Part 11). On the subject of precision, MCP 200 makes the grade with an accuracy of ± 0.005 ° Optical Rotation, without limits over the entire measuring range.

To ensure the highest ease-of-use and error-free operation, the MCP 200 polarimeter is equipped with a system which automatically identifies the quartz control plate or sample cell. This ToolmasterTM option consists of a memory chip integrated into the sample cell which automatically transfers all relevant data to the polarimeter. The ToolmasterTM technology prevents data errors during measurements and calibrations, and meets the very highest demands for documentation and traceability, required for example by 21 CFR Part 11.

The modular concept of the MCP polarimeter series makes MCP 200 extremely flexible. For routine determination of Optical Rotation, MCP 200 is equipped with a large selection of sample cells for every possible application. Optional extras include Peltier thermostatting of the sample cells and calibration standards, as well as an additional 8 wavelengths. Each of these options can be integrated later on-site, allowing the MCP polarimeters to grow to fit the situation at hand.

The MCP series has its roots in the company „Dr. Kernchen“, which was established in 1970 by Dr. Wolfgang Kernchen to develop and sell top-class polarimeters and refractometers. After Anton Paar GmbH acquired the company, Dr. Wolfgang Kernchen retired: a long-term solution for safeguarding the company in Seelze had been found.
