House Bill 484, a bill that had the potential to ban the sale and use of virtually all ammunition in Vermont by requiring that the Secretary of Natural Resources to set up a program to identify and ban the distribution of certain toxic chemicals, was defeated in the House Fish, Wildlife & Water Resources Committee.Due in part to an outpouring of opposition from sportsmen, the original far-reaching bill was replaced with a resolution asking Congress to take action to amend the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 to require broader testing and regulation of chemicals. Please continue checking your e-mail and http://www.NRAILA.org for updates on other pending legislative issues.
