IRISH SAYINGS for St. Patrick’s Day!

I’ve got some Irish sayings for you to use on this lovely St. Patrick’s Day!

Hell yes, I am Irish, folks. My great, great grandfather came straight from Ireland, he was a ‘Sheehan’. However, he changed the family’s last name to ‘Sherman’ as to not sound so Irish. (It was English) You see, the Irish weren’t very popular folk back in those days. I’m still not so sure we’re that popular. Heh. Anyhow, this Irish girl dug up some hilarious Irish quotes for ye! I think you’ll get a kick out of the ones I found:

“You’ve got to do your own growing, no matter how tall your grandfather was.”

“If you’re lucky enough to be Irish, then you’re lucky enough.”

“Who gossips with you will gossip of you” (Who, me?)

“Beware of people who dislike cats”

“God is good to the Irish, but no one else is; not even the Irish”

“Only Irish coffee provides in a single glass all four essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar and fat”

“The trouble with me is that I am a vindictive old shanty-Irish bitch.” – Eleanor Medill Patterson

“But the greatest love – the love above all loves, Even greater than that of a mother – Is the tender, passionate, undying love, of one beer drunken slob for another”

“Marry a mountain girl and you marry the whole mountain.”

“The Irish ignore anything they can’t drink or punch.”

…and my favorite:

“The trouble with me is that I am a vindictive old shanty-Irish bitch.” – Eleanor Medill Patterson

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! – xo
