Phil Spector’s mouth is making life tough for his face behind bars. The incarcerated former record producer/songwriter took a vicious beating from a fellow inmate at the state prison in Corcoran, California last week.

Spector, 70 — who was sentenced to 19 year-to-life in 2009 for the shooting death of B-movie actress Lana Clarkson — wound up with a bruised nose, black eye, and the loss of a couple of teeth when he mouthed off to “the wrong inmate in the yard,” Spector pal Steven Escobar revealed to The NY Daily News Monday.
“Phil has quite a mouth on him. Not everyone understands his humour. He said the wrong thing to the wrong inmate in the yard. At first, Phil said he fell down a flight of stairs. Later, he told family and friends what really happened.”
