My client is a leading, international wind farm player. Recruitment is high on their agenda & a key hire is to appoint an Offshore Business Development Manager whose primary remit will be to expand the client base for offshore services, identify further opportunities for increased business activity & manage the development & growth of new offshore business sectors.
This key role will be based at my client’s HQ in the Home Counties
Key Responsibilities
• Identifying business development opportunities
• Preparing business development plans
• Managing new business activities through initiation to implementation
• Identifying & developing of new client relationships
• Contributing to long term business strategy & business planning
• Ideally, experience & expertise in wind energy
• Willing to travel within the UK & Europe.
The Person
• Role calls upon a mixture of technical & business skills & would ideally suit a professionally qualified person with engineering, construction or power generation exp. with strong commercial or business management skills. Previous exp of the offshore sector and/or knowledge of the wind industry would be strongly advantageous.
• The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that they have the following capabilities:
• An understanding of relevant technical issues.
• Competence in financial management
• A knowledge of commercial & financing structures
• Exp. of contract preparation and negotiation
• Ability to identify business opportunities & to present a business case
• Ability to motivate & lead a multi disciplinary team to achieve a business development objective
• Ability to provide business development support to other managers within the offshore team.
The following attributes are desirable:
• Commercial exp in the marine, offshore or power gen sectors
• Exp. of design, construction or operations in the coastal or offshore sectors
• Project management exp.
• Experience & expertise in wind energy.
