Siki Im is a former Karl Lagerfeld and Helmut Lang designer whose new collection deserves some recognition. While the construction and cuts might be too avant-garde for some, there is no denying the talent and the originality of the pieces. The grey, black, and white palette fits perfectly with the geometrical designs in the range. Jackets, blazers, and suits are all constructed with a new concept of the male form and his work wardrobe.

In alignment with his past collection that was inspired by William Golding’s novel “The Lord Of The Flies”, Siki Im’s Fall 2010 collection alludes to yet another fiction: the resourcefulness and the questioning of old values of the kids in Golding’s novel resume in the erring tribulations of anti-hero Patrick Bateman in Brett Easton Ellis’ “American Psycho”. While this satire about the financier and successful city dweller is an overt criticism of the elite, identifying it as a race of greedy, abusive and vain “non- individuals” sets the stage for Fall 2010.
