“The Sailor Man With The Spinach Can” is back: Popeye’s famously defined forearms will bulge a bit bigger when the classic comic book sailor makes his return to the big screen in 3D.
Sony Pictures and ImageWorks Animation have reached an agreement to produce an animated flick featuring the squinty eyed seaman, girlfriend Olive Oyl, their “boy-kid” SweePea, and Ham Gravy, Ollie’s ex.
Popeye was last seen on the big screen in the 1980 musical-comedy, starring comedian Robin Williams and Shelly Duvall.
No date has been announced for the movie’s release.
