Reliable remote operation

At bauma 2010 (19-25 April 2010), HAWE Hydraulik SE, Munich, is presenting the hydraulic joystick type KFB 01 which is designed for hydraulic actuation of proportional directional spool valves. These on their part, serve to control the direction of movement of hydraulic consumers and also provide load-independent, stepless control of their speed of movement.

Type KFB 01 is suitable as pilot valve for hydraulic functions in mobile applications where joystick control is desired but electronic systems cannot be employed. Examples of applications are mining machinery or drilling equipment in explosion hazardous environment. The valve can also be used as redundant back-up for an electric actuating system, for example for hydraulic support of mobile machines.

This type of valve features a control pressure range of max. 30 bar, with a number of different pressure ranges available. KFB 01 is available either as an individual valve or as a valve bank with a maximum of ten sections enabling up to ten consumers to be controlled. The hand lever actuation is available in a spring-centered version or with detent.

The characteristics of type KFB 01 are optimally matched to the proportional directional spool valves type PSL from HAWE Hydraulik. The combination of these two products offers the advantage that the proportional directional spool valve can be installed in the machine at the ideal spot from the technical viewpoint. The proportional directional spool valve can be operated conveniently by hand from any other location via the hydraulic joystick type KFB 01. In mining this is also an important work safety aspect since the operator can remain outside the danger zone.

Type KFB 01 boasts a long service life because it is fabricated from hardened components, with all sensitive components being integrated in a closed housing and thus protected against dirt.
