The hunger for hybrid vehicles, as well as the need to set an example for fleet owners has made the US government order an extra 5,600 hybrid vehicles, thus doubling the number of such vehicles in use with various US agencies.
"We’re going to lead by example and practice what we preach: cutting waste, saving energy and reducing our reliance on foreign oil," president Obama said when announcing the order.
