Controversial star Charlie Sheen wants out of his hit CBS comedy Two And A Half Men — and PEOPLE Magazine swears this is no April Fools joke.
The long trouble-prone actor will reportedly walk away from the award-winning series once filming on the current seventh season wraps on April 9. TV industry tattles insists the network and producers of the series have thrown pleas and everything except the kitchen sink at Sheen to get the star on board for an eighth season, but he’ll hear none of it.
“Charlie’s just done. And he’s quietly telling his friends he’s not coming back.”
According to NBC newsmagazine Access Hollywood, he was making $987,000 an episode, wanted $2 million, but was offered $1.2 million. He said, “No Deal.”
The star has been receiving out-patient treatment in a rehab program for more than a month following an alleged Christmas Day domestic asault on his crack-addicted wife Brooke Mueller in Colorado. Sheen faces felony assault charges in connection with the case.
When quizzed on the Men exit whispers, Sheen’s longtime rep, Stan Rosenfield, had only this to say: “Charlie’s deal is only through this current season.”
Men’s current season has averaged 15.2 million viewers for the network, making it television’s most popular sitcom.Thoughts on this?
