PTC in the News: American TV Undermines Kids Worldwide
American TV programs like the CW network’s Gossip Girl and 90210, Fox’s Glee, and cable shows like ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager portray sex between teenagers as normal and even positive. But TV’s portrayal undermines truly healthy relationships among teens; and because American TV is distributed worldwide, its view of sex affects teens all around the globe.
