Passport Theft Leads To Arrest Warrant – Lindsay Lohan Fails To Appear Before LA Court

The entertainment world was jolted after the judge from the Los Angeles court issued an arrest warrant for the famous Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan. The orders were issued after Lohan failed to appear before a mandatory court hearing. While the court issued immediate arrest of the young lady, the court also announced that her bail has been kept for a handsome amount of $100,000.

Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, furnished a statement in front of the judge that the actress was away, attending the Cannes Film Festival where her passport was stolen which prevented her from returning and appearing before the judge. While the excuse was seen widely as a lie, as TMZ.com reported that the actress has not reported her passport as stolen. Judge Marsha Revel also revoked Lohan’s probation which she had been going through following two arrests in 2007 on charges of drunken driving.

Judge Marsha Revel was heard in the court:

“Actions speak louder than words. I’ve heard the best words in the world, but the actions are far more important. She has a history of not keeping scheduled appointments. If she wanted to be here, it looks to the court that she could have been here. But right now that’s irrelevant. She was ordered to be here. … There’s really no valid excuse.”

Lohan’s Lawyer reported that she would be back by Friday evening and if she makes bail, she would be prohibited from drinking alcohol and would also be required to wear an alcohol bracelet and also go weekly drug testing.

The actress is now scheduled to appear in court Monday.
