Microsoft (
MSFT) is expected to announce the next generation of the
Windows operating system later this year.
According to The Verge, the company began working on a “milestone preview” version of
Windows Blue earlier this month, and plan to make it available to developers and enthusiasts at its Build developer conference in June.
Microsoft earlier this week
acknowledged the Blue codename, however it is unlikely that the final product will be called Windows Blue. Earlier rumors have suggested that the next version of Windows
will include a variety of new features such as customized live tiles and improvements to the company’s Snap View feature. Microsoft’s Build developers conference is
scheduled to take place on June 26th in San Francisco.
