‘Officers are suing their police force for illnesses allegedly caused by their radios. They
claim that radiation emissions from the Airwave police radio network
has left them with a range of ailments including nausea, headaches and
stomach aches.

Authority is now seeking legal advice and speaking with its insurers
over compensation claims brought by officers who claim the terrestrial
trunked radio (TETRA) technology is not safe. Civil claims have been
made against the force and the suppliers of the controversial
equipment have since made changes to prevent “audio
anomalies”.’
