Columbia Basin College Student Employment is prepping job seekers for this year’s Career Expo with several career development workshops.

The public is invited to learn resume writing skills and interviewing tips through a variety of free workshops beginning this Friday, January 8 and continuing through winter quarter, with 12 workshops leading up to the expo.

Workshops range from Make Your Resume Pop to Speed Interviewing, including a panel to learn about employer expectations. A full list of workshops, descriptions, times, and dates is available here.

Job seekers can also attend a workshop to learn how to present a Live Resume/One-Minute Commercial to a room full of potential employers on the morning of Career Expo.

This year’s Career Expo is Thursday, February 18, 2010 on the CBC Pasco campus from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the HUB Atrium and Byron Gjerde Center with live resumes from 8-9 a.m. in the HUB Osprey Sunroom.

Career Expo allows job seekers to network with as many as 80 businesses and agencies all in one place, at one time. This free informational job and internship fair gives students and community members the opportunity to explore careers, obtain employer information, establish contacts, and submit resumes. By attending these pre-expo workshops, job seekers can learn valuable, life-long skills to put to use during the event.
