YSR Reddy died in a helicopter crash in Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh on 2 September.
In a separate letter, the Tibetan Parliament conveyed its heartfelt condolences for the demise of US Senator Edward M Kennedy. “He will be remembered with gratitude for his great contributions towards the human rights and freedom of the Tibetan people. He was a close associate of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and took active participation in the adoption of many Tibet related resolutions in the parliament of the United States. He stands tall as a highly respected leader of his people and shall always remain in the hearts of the people of Tibet,” the letter noted.
Kennedy, who passed away at the age of 77 on 25 August, had met with His Holiness the Dalai Lama on many occasions and championed the rights and democratic freedoms of the Tibetan people.
