Dear All,
I gave up smoking in Feb 2009 (40 a day) and in Oct 2009, I was diagnosed of diabetes. Apparently ex-heavy smokers are twice as likely as never smokers and nearly 1.5 times more likely than current smokers to contract diabetes in the first three years from quitting. Amazing that current smokers are better off than recent quitters. I know one other person at work who gave up smoking and after few months past, got D. Anybody else has this experience?
