Saudi Arabian Airlines Jet Propulsion Center
King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
This 60,000 sq. meter state-of-the-art jet engine maintenance and overhaul facility will handle the carriers’ existing and new aircraft engines and APU’s. The project is located within a large aircraft maintenance campus dedicated to the airline and its customers. The airline plans to use this new facility to improve its productivity, as well as become a recognized provider in the third party maintenance market. A courtyard within the facility contains a 500 sq. meter mosque. The courtyard is enclosed with high glass curtain wall systems, which provide daylight and views into the work-bays. The mosque is a dome with an opening directed towards Mecca.
