I currently live in Nottingham, I live about as close to the city centre as you can get. I own a 1 bed apartment, I intend to keep this and rent it out.
I need to move to London in the next few months, probably 2-3. I currently earn 30k ish which is comfortable here, it will be going up to 35k for the move. I know I will have to ‘compromise’ probably very significantly, but I can cope with that, its a massive opportunity in the long run and I would regret it if I didn’t.
So what can I get and where?! I reckon with the adjusted wage the equivalent would be somewhere around £650-750 on rent. My requirements are..
– within budget, I don’t mind sharing
– not too far, I have a 3 minute walk to work currently. Need to get to Cannon street (?) I realise it will be a lot further, just like to keep it 30-40 mins if possible
– more interested in being near bars/clubs/restaurants than parks/quiet parts of town
