Ok, so I race bmx bikes, I sure most of you know what that is. Anyways, after about 3-4 intense laps, my blood sugar gets VERY HIGH.
Yesterday, I checked my sugar level before I practiced, it was 115, I did about 5 laps within a 20 minute window (resting between laps). An hour or so after that, I checked my sugar levels again, it was 379! So, I took 20units of Insulin! Went out rode a little more, not to intense, an hour later, I checked it again, it was 399! It freaking went up! So, once again, I took 15 more units! Usually 10units lowers me 100 numbers. Still was high. About 6 hours later, before bed it finally was 99.
Any ideas? Why does it go so haywire when I ride? I workout at a gym pretty intensly and never have and issue, but when I race it just goes threw the roof.
