Hi, New Member Prediabetic

I have lurked for a little while, but maybe I’m ready to post, finally, lol. I was diagnosed as a prediabetic in 2004 but didn’t really get it that I should do more than just keep on trying to "eat healthy," meaning to me just no junk or sweets, or maybe calorie counting and controlling the amount of junk or sweets.
I didn’t always eat enough protein, I think, but I always ate plenty of carbs!!! Wonder why my fasting numbers and a1c never got any better!

I finally figured out I’d have to let go of starches, fruit and milk. When I have those I spike. I can’t eat grains. I test a lot so I know what I can eat and have good bg numbers.

Poor me…..! But on the happy side I do feel great and am at almost my ideal weight (within 10 lbs)………! Maybe it was all worth it then?! Yep, I think so…..
