
General Motors announced Tuesday that it will become the first major U.S. automaker to design and manufacture electric motors, a “core technology for hybrids and electric vehicles,” according to a company press release.
GM’s total investment for electric motor and electric drive facilities in the U.S., where all the electric motors will be manufactured, is $246 million.
