Carpentersville police search for home invasion suspects

CARPENTERSVILLE — Police are searching for two men who bound three people, including a 5-year-old child, during a home invasion in Carpentersville Monday night.

Police responded to the 4000 block of Stratford Lane about 9:19 p.m. and found the man, woman, and their child.

Shortly after the three victims returned home, two white, male subjects wearing ski masks entered the home through an open garage door, police said.

One of the the men was armed with a handgun.

After binding the victims, the men began taking items from the home before leaving a short time later and fleeing in a two-door red sedan, police said.

None of the victims were injured.

Physical evidence was collected at the scene by detectives and evidence technicians, which will be sent to the Illinois State Police crime lab for analysis, said Commander Tim Bosshart.

He declined to say what the evidence was or give additional details about the incident.

Police are encouraging anyone who saw the vehicle in the area or who may have any information related to the incident to call the police department at 847-551-3481.
