Witness the struggle of two men stranded on the worlds tallest peak in the Pierce College Theatre production of K2, a thrilling show that will have audiences captivated.
K2 runs at 7 p.m. Feb. 17-20 at the BlackBox Theater at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom, 9401 Farwest Drive SW, Lakewood. Tickets are $5 general admission or $2 for Pierce students, military personnel, and seniors. For tickets, call the Ticket Line at (253) 964-6710.

Actors David de Rouen and Andrew Myrick have been training with the Tacoma and Seattle Mountaineers, learning the basics of mountain climbing and experiencing first-hand the thrills and fears of such a dangerous sport. The actors were able to climb an ice wall and feel what their characters may have felt in the play.
The kinesthetic activity and professional training gave the actors a better understanding of what its like to be a mountaineer, explained Director Patrick Daugherty.
In addition, one of the actors will be wearing the actual climbing gear worn by famed local climber Stan Engle when he summated Alaskas Mt. McKinley. Engle passed away in March, but his legacy in the local climbing community is profound. The equipment was graciously loaned to Pierce College by Engles wife, Helen Engle.
The new theater is intimate, so purchasing tickets early is recommended.
